One way to think about setting goals for your professional future involves focusing on a relationship between goals and objectives through the acronym SMART.  This is a process of thinking about and planning goals that helps us focus on actually doing what we plan to do.

The focus of this process involves applying the elements of the acronym as you move from a general goal to a more specific objective.
